REFINISHING DAY
What should you do before and on refinishing day?
o You should have already reviewed the page titled “Before Refinishing” and ensured your tub is ready to refinish.
o If there’s a window in the bathroom that’s not directly over the tub, ensure the window opens and the screen is removeable.
o The day prior to and after refinishing, the temperature in the dwelling should be at a minimum of 70F.
o Remove all loose items from the tub, shower, vanity and bathroom floor.
o Remove the shower curtain.
o Ensure the temperature in the dwelling is at a minimum of 73F and ideally 75F on refinishing day. This allows the resins to properly spray, flow and cure.
What to expect on refinishing day?
o I normally arrive at 8am. I’ll text you the day before to confirm the time.
o Upon arrival, I’ll spend about 30 minutes staging tools and materials.
o If there’s a window in the bathroom, I’ll install an exhaust fan. If there’s no window in the bathroom, I’ll need to access the closest window to the bathroom. I’ll run an exhaust system from the bathroom, through a duct and out this window.
o Since air from the bathroom is being exhausted to the exterior, make-up air needs to enter from a different window. This intake window can’t be in close proximity to the exhaust window, or the exhaust will be pulled back into the house.
o Near the intake window, I’ll stage the turbine that’s used to spray the resins.
o Once these setup items are completed (~30 minutes) I’ll begin working on your project.
o Upon completion of the job (normally 6-7 hours) I’ll provide you “use and care” and “warranty” sheets that we will review.
o You can use your tub and/or shower 24 hours later as documented on the use and care sheet.
